After our initiative group of volunteers founded Evum NGO in February 2020, we continued to work even more actively on solving strategic issues in the treatment of children. After registration, we have a legal status with which we can achieve more global goals, as well as lobby for the interests of children and protect their rights.
Evum NGO, the child and its needs are at the center of all activities. Our goal is to provide everything necessary for treatment, to create appropriate conditions for successful chemotherapy and further socialization. We also make every effort to build such a space around the child, in which he will feel as comfortable as possible from the moment he enters the hospital until the moment he is discharged.
Therefore, Evum is not only about medicines.
Here are just some of the tasks we perform:
- Fundraising;
- Purchase of medicines;
- Purchase of medical equipment;
- Purchase of consumables;
- Purchase of special food;
- Purchase of necessary consumables and tools for medical personnel;
- Transfer of biological materials to the Kyiv laboratory;
- Payment of children’s tests;
- Creation of conditions for treatment;
- Creation of living conditions close to home;
- Happy holidays and birthdays;
- Creation of a play space for children;
- Annual project “Make a dream come true”;
- Creation of a database of blood donors;
- Organization of seminars and educational events;
- Media support for cancer patients;
- Monitoring of hospital activity.
We also organize children’s leisure time to maintain a positive mood, as well as their physical and psychological health. For this purpose, within the walls of the hospital, our volunteers conduct evening movie theaters with juice and popcorn, organize master classes and outings, holidays and birthday greetings. A sports room was also opened in the department, in which our wards can work out on simulators or perform some physical exercises at any time convenient for them.
But we don’t stop there! Every year, our list is updated with new goals and objectives, because we don’t want to wait for changes, we are the ones who create them!
