Let’s discuss a story about kindness and good changes because of the help of generous people, who donated to our charity. At times like these, not only doctors are heroes, but also ordinary people, who help a good cause and make the lives of small patients better, are heroes.
How it all began…
Previously, the oncology unit of the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital (CRCH) occupied a small part of the third floor in the hospital building. The space was very tight for our small patients, since the number of children in need of specialized care had been continuously growing at a rapid pace every year.
Therefore, the hospital administration decided to move and equip the second floor to host the oncology unit. However, repairs were necessary to prepare the ward. The management of the hospital turned to Evum with a request to help with the financing. In turn, Evum turned to volunteers and to the caring residents of Chernihiv…
A helping hand
Thanks to our sponsors and donors, we were able to collect the necessary amount to fund the purchase of construction materials and to hire professional workers that could begin working on the repairs. The parents, whose children were undergoing treatment, and the volunteers, who took an active part in helping with the repair, had a main role in this project. Together, we were able to create a real miracle – a cozy and fully developed hematology department, which became a new home for our little fighters fighting a very tough battle.
Made with love
Parental love and warmth were invested in creating comfortable conditions for children, so our little heroes feel safe and recover faster in the hospital. Wooden panels were installed in the corridor, hand-made furniture was brought in— all this was done with love. Doctors, parents and volunteers created an atmosphere where treatment is combined with warmth and the comfort of home.
This is just the beginning
The hematology department of the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital (CRCH) has become much more humane and modern. In the renovated oncology unit, children are treated in more favorable and comfortable conditions than before. The children receive not only comprehensive treatment, but also hope for a happy and joyful future, thanks to those who do not lose faith and support us and the hospital, even in difficult times.
So, thanks to our joint efforts, Evum together with donors, volunteers, doctors and parents is changing the lives of many children requiring help and support, a small step at a time. When the heart is filled with goodness and love, nothing is too difficult – this is our testimony .
