New Year and Christmas are the most anticipated holidays for every child, because on these days they receive their dream gifts, make wishes and rejoice in fairy-tale characters. That is the reason that Evum started a wonderful tradition. Every year on holidays the volunteers of Evum arrange something special, a surprise for small patients of the hematology oncology department of the Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital. This surprise not only gives them joy and love, but also raises their spirits and gives them strength to fight their disease.
This year, the Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region joined our charity campaign for the Christmas and New Year holidays. It decided to make the Christmas holiday bright and unforgettable for children undergoing treatment. The festive performance with the participation of rescuers from the State Emergency Service impressed not only the children, but also everyone who witnessed this amazing moment, including random passers-by.
The head office of the State Emergency Service impressed all those present by using large special equipment for the celebration. In particular, a fire truck was driven to the windows of the hospital. Santa Claus climbed to the windows of the second floor of the hospital using the firefighters’ ladder, where our little heroes were already waiting for their gifts.
Such a non-standard approach to the Christmas celebrations became especially exciting for children, giving them hope and faith in fairy tales, proving that miracles happen on Christmas Day. The children’s reaction when Santa Claus visited their windows in person was incredible, they jumped with happiness and joy. It was not just a greeting, but real “magic” that brought joy and unforgettable memories.
Random passers-by were not left behind – the moment when Santa Claus appeared from the fire truck under the windows of the hospitals surprised everyone, many managed to record it on their cameras to create an unforgettable memory.
Thanks to the efforts of the Head Office of the State Emergency Service, our sponsors, and volunteers, the children received gifts from Santa and sincere wishes for a speedy recovery.
Evum expresses special gratitude to our volunteer Yulia Pisarenko for her invaluable contribution to the organization, for planning this holiday, and for delivering positivity to children! Her help is an example for others to follow.
Also, we sincerely thank the Head Office of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernihiv region for the care, concern and love shown to the children undergoing treatment. This is indeed a manifestation of social responsibility and willingness to help where it is most needed.
We also invite other representatives of government bodies, private sector and non-governmental organizations to join our charitable initiatives, because doing good deeds is always better and more effective when doing them together!
