We have more great news to share: in early October 2024, the Evum team officially joined the nationwide charitable community Patients of Ukraine.
Patients of Ukraine is one of the largest charitable foundations in the country, representing the interests of more than 4.5 million patients living with hard and chronic illnesses. The community continuously advocates for positive legislative changes to protect and lobbies for improving Ukrainian citizens’ access to high-quality, state-guaranteed treatment.
Now Evum is proud to be part of this powerful team. Our organization has become an associate member of the community. Together we will be even more effective and able to bring greater benefit to the people we support. We sincerely thank the Patients of Ukraine team for their trust and for the opportunity to contribute to processes that directly impact the quality of healthcare in our country.
On 5–6 October 2024, our team attended the annual meeting of all members of the Charitable Foundation Patients of Ukraine. It was an intensive and rewarding weekend for everyone involved, filled with learning and valuable exchange of experience.
The programme was packed — every minute was used to its fullest. We had the privilege of hearing insights and explanations on key healthcare issues by Olha Stefanyshyna (the member of Parliament and member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation), as well as many other leading medical experts. Among the critical topics discussed were the 2025 healthcare budget and current legislative changes.
A representative of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine was also present and listened to our proposals regarding urgent issues related to state procurement of medicines during wartime.
We also took part in a powerful communications training led by Dmytro Symanskyi (communications, PR and media consultant & trainer). Dmytro first dismantles all existing stereotypes and misconceptions, and then suddenly everything falls into place and becomes crystal clear.
It was particularly inspiring to hear real-world case studies of successful advocacy campaigns on HIV/AIDS issues presented by Dmytro Sherembei (Chairman of the Board of the CO “100% Life”) and to compare them with our own team’s experience.
Overall, the Evum team came away from the seminar with many new friends and potential partners for future charitable projects, as well as invaluable experience in cooperating with state institutions on treatment-related matters and advocating for patients’ interests.
