It is always important to know all medical indicators about children undergoing treatment. That is why, to enhance the capabilities of the medical laboratory at Saint Nicholas Children’s Hospital, with the financial support of our friends from LandsAid and the fund’s representative Ms. Raquel Nerger, and Aktion Deutschland Hilft we purchased a modern digital microscope ZEISS Primostar 3 for precise research.
Saint Nicholas Hospital in Lviv has been cooperating with Evum for a long time. Therefore, when the need arose for new high-tech equipment to expand the possibilities of laboratory diagnostics, the benefactors responded immediately.
“Our laboratory department performs hundreds of tests daily. All this requires not only professionalism but also high-tech equipment that allows accurate assessment of cell condition, detection of atypical forms, and assistance to clinicians in establishing the correct diagnosis. A particularly valuable function is the real-time transmission of images to a large monitor, which enables doctors to analyze samples simultaneously, make collegial decisions, and save images for further analysis or student training,” explains the head of the laboratory at Saint Nicholas Children’s Hospital, Tetiana Ivanytska.
The medical staff waited approximately two months for the laboratory equipment, as ZEISS manufactures its devices individually — tailored to each customer’s needs. Now, the new microscope is conducting research in the laboratory.
If compared to analogs, in the world of medical equipment, its cost can be equated to a premium-class car.
Tasks that the ZEISS Primostar 3 can perform:
- Precise analysis of tests and increasing their volume through detailed visualization and faster output of results on the screen;
- Visual training of interns and other medical staff;
- Ability to take photos, receive advice from specialists in real time, and discuss test results with other doctors.
Thanks to the new equipment, the process of obtaining accurate patient information has been significantly accelerated, ensuring higher-quality treatment and detection of various diseases and pathologies at early stages.
Currently, the waiting time for results of general clinical and hematological tests for patients has become much shorter. This means that children admitted in emergency and severe conditions will receive accurate diagnostics and quality medical care as quickly as possible.
In total, 362,853 UAH was spent on purchasing the microscope along with auxiliary equipment (computer, etc.). These funds were received from our sponsors at the German charitable fund “LandsAid e.V.” and Aktion Deutschland Hilft.
