The most joyful news for Evum and everyone involved in our volunteer movement is when children who are undergoing treatment recover and are discharged from the hospital. In 2025, we celebrated 26 such discharges of children from the oncology departments that our team supports. So we are reporting these wonderful news so that you can also rejoice with us for the children.
Thus, during 2025, the following children completed treatment and were discharged:
- Nika. January 11 — Nika had her last radiation therapy session and we are immensely happy for her. Thank you to Landsaidev for the gifts for Nika.
- Yana. January 14. Yana went through things that not all adults could endure. A strong-willed and resilient girl who passed many exams — one of the best students of the Superheroes School. On the day of her discharge, half the team cried from happiness because we could not believe that such a fragile girl could make cancer break all its teeth. We are grateful to the surgeons and oncologists, nurses, orderlies, patrons, and people who supported Yana from abroad and even wrote music for her. Khrystyna Verhun’s team coped with a very rare diagnosis that occurs once in a million! The EVUM team thanks everyone who helped and supported this brave girl in her battle with the disease, Landsaidev for the gift and balloons, and the Zaporka Foundation for the medal for Yana, who defeated her illness!
- Karina. January 18. Karina’s fight began at the start of 2020. Treatment, remission, war, relapse, treatment abroad, back to Chernihiv — and finally congratulations and gifts that marked the end of a difficult journey. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and everyone who responded to help us purchase what was missing for treatment. Thank you to Landsaidev for the gift for Karina.
- Sviatoslav. April 10 — we rejoiced together with Sviatoslav and his mom because he finally completed treatment fully and now his little palm shines on our Tree of Victors! Long months of treatment, unpleasant procedures, bad test results are behind him. We wish Sviatoslav the fulfillment of his dreams and desires!
- Vanya. April 14. “You are being discharged!” — the words that Vanya and his mom had been waiting for four years. Ivan was only 9 years old when his fight began. A real, long, exhausting one — but with each day he grew stronger. His mom called him “my hero”, and those are not just words. He proved he is capable of anything. Today he confidently says: “I know I will be able to fulfill all my dreams.” As a memento of this journey — Vanya received an embroidered shirt and a backpack from EVUM. Items that symbolize a new stage where there is room for happiness, life, and the realization of dreams.
- Zakhar. April 16. Zakhar went through a great many trials and never complained, no matter how unpleasant or difficult it was. Huge thanks to the doctors, nurses, representatives of organizations that also supported and helped the boy get through this path. Evum wishes health and hugs Zakhar tightly as a whole team.
- Sashko. May 2. We nicknamed this brave boy “Mariupol” when he came to us (because he himself is from Mariupol). He endured so much — more in these years than people can bear in an entire lifetime. Sashko, his mom, and the doctors fought like lions for him, and now the day has come when his life is safe and he is being discharged. Ahead of him are still many adventures and we hope that Sashko will be able to get a prosthesis. We thank everyone who helped and supported Sashko.
- Sofiika. May 9. This incredibly sweet girl had two holidays on the same day: her Birthday and her Discharge from the hospital — her treatment was completed! What a coincidence! We congratulate Sofiika and sincerely rejoice for her. May her face always shine with a happy smile and may all her dreams come true. Thank you to Krymska Perepichka for the birthday cake for Sofiika!
- Yuliana. June 28. This was the first time we congratulated a child on discharge and gave her a rat cage as a gift. Yuliana dreamed of getting a rat after recovery and her mom promised they would go together so she could choose a friend. Our dreams were more pragmatic and we didn’t think about a rat at all — we only wanted Yuliana to recover and return home. The doctors and medical staff of St. Nicholas Hospital did the possible and the impossible. Thanks to their work, Yuliana now has a ticket home, and her rat has a new life.
- Sofiika. July 15 — the girl successfully completed her treatment course and went home with a smile on her face. This path was not easy, but she walked it with courage, light, and sincere childish faith. On the occasion of her discharge, Sofiika received gifts from Evum — her favorite Labubu and a soft kitty, because she simply adores cats! These symbols of warmth and tenderness will be with her every step of the way. We believe that a bright, happy future awaits her. We wish her health, joy, and incredible adventures!
- Nina. July 25. A loving, open, and sincere girl, she passed all stages of treatment with great courage and won her big victory. Nina is a creative soul who loves art and is always open to communication. Her sincerity and kindness inspire everyone around her. Ahead is returning to school, and we sincerely believe that the gifts will be useful for successful and joyful studies.
- Alisa. September 5 — the girl opened a new page in her life — a page that contains a special word for which she went through such a long and difficult path — “Remission”. It is not just a medical term; it is a victory of her strength of spirit, faith, and love for life. Alisa always moves forward with the motto: “I see the goal — I see no obstacles”, and this inspires everyone around her. She is sincere, lively, open to exploring the world, and extraordinarily developed beyond her years. Talking, fantasizing, sharing ideas, and just being near her is always interesting. Alisa not only overcame her path but also gave a special gift to the doctors Yehor Pavlenko, Olha Zayets, and the entire department staff who were with her: little “Oscars” for the best — those who helped her reach the day of discharge. Congratulations to Alisa on her recovery and new stage of life! May only light, love, and countless new discoveries await her ahead. Thank you to Mrs. Nataliia for the gift for our magical fairy, and to the girls from the Charyvnytsi Dobra Foundation for the cute bunny.
- Liza. September 15. Liza is a true heroine! Despite all the trials, she managed to walk the treatment path with dignity, with great strength and courage. At just 13 years old, she has already shown what it means to be strong, purposeful, and wise beyond her years. She not only coped with difficulties but also managed to preserve her zest for life, good mood, and even excelled in school. It is truly inspiring! May this victory become the beginning of a great, happy story in her life. With best wishes, the Evum team and the hematology department of Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital.
- Demian. October 28 — a holiday for little Demianchik! The Evum team congratulated him and his parents on completing treatment. The difficult months are behind, and now mom can finally stop crying; ahead are children’s games, kindergarten, ordinary childhood! We are incredibly grateful for the work of the oncology department team at St. Nicholas Hospital led by its head Khrystyna Myroslavivna Verhun. Thank you for your work and for such moments when children recover and go home.
- Solomiika. December 14 — another palm appeared on the Tree of Victors. For us personally, when a palm touches the wall — it is the beginning of a new stage when a child, after long treatment, can finally return home. But before that there was enormous work by the team of doctors and nurses of the oncology department of St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital and its head Khrystyna Verhun, so that this could happen — and we are grateful to them for it! Congratulations to Solomiika, we wish all her dreams to come true and that she lives her life to the fullest!
- Oleksandr. December 17. It seems like just recently Sashko crossed the threshold of the hospital. While the treatment lasted, he didn’t just grow — he matured before our eyes. He went through a difficult, exhausting path full of pain and trials, but emerged from it a true adult man — strong and unbreakable. Now his palm has also appeared on our Tree of Victors. This bright imprint is proof that the disease has retreated. But this victory is the result of the teamwork of a huge number of people.
Another 10 children also received valuable gifts and were finally discharged home after a hard battle with the disease. Their parents did not give permission to publish or disclose their stories, so we quietly rejoice for them and sincerely wish them to live their best life!
The Evum team says “THANK YOU” to:
· the doctors and medical staff of the oncology department of St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital and the hematology department of Chernihiv Regional Children’s Hospital for their sleepless nights, professionalism, patience, and warm hands that heal no worse than medicine;
· the parents of the children — for their steel endurance. You are always the rock that your children lean on in the hardest moments;
· the donors — for the power of unity. We thank our main donor Landsaidev for gifts for children on discharge holidays and every ordinary person who did not pass by. Your donations, reposts, and support turned into paid expensive medicines, consumables, and vital tests. Without your help this path would have been impossible. You gave the most valuable thing — LIFE!
We hope that next year our list of discharges will be replenished with new children, and we will continue to make every effort to make this happen as soon as possible!
